I personally hate Texas Pete’s. Given a choice it’s always Tabasco for me. I’m military so most of the time Texas Pete’s is all the chow hall would have.

I got some of the regular Texas Pete’s last year at the dollar tree. For the price it’s pretty good but both the heat and flavor are underwhelming imo. I added some pure capsaicin to it and now at least the heat is there

Lived down south and they have texas Pete everywhere. Being from Buffalo I will tell you Frank’s is 1,000 better. Franks has flavor Texas pete is just heat. Both about the same intensity but I go with hot sauce for the flavor. If you haven’t tried it I would recommend.

Texas Pete is shit. Crystal (Extra Hot) blows it out of the water. Texas Pete just has a weird flavor. It tastes cheap. Crystal is the 18 year single malt and Texas Pete is the 8 year blend.

it is a truly awful sauce, it’s just flavored vinegar. i have very few sauces i will never ever touch, this is one of them. even crystal hot sauce is better and that is super cheap.

This is all they had on the mess decks when I was in the navy. I bought two big ass bottles of Cholula and tapatio and kept em in my rack. I ran out a month in to deployment because the food was shit and the only way to kill the bad taste was to set it on fire. Thank god for port visits and having family send more.

I’ve never tried this but I used to love the Texas Pete pepper sauce on some turnip or collard greens. Haven’t had it since I moved out of Texas.
